So after Brunei we headed for the first town in Sarawak, called Miri. It was a bit of a mission to get there, we had to change bus 6 times and use a boat, once we arrived we pretty much found out there was nothing really there.

We spent the next day at a nearby national park but when we arrived they told us the main waterfalls and trails were closed, so we had to hike 1hr into the jungle to see a waterfall - it was hard going, i got heat rash as a result, and the waterfall was lame, we couldnt even swim in the mosquito infested muddy pool - so it was a hike back out of the jungle.

After that we kinda felt we had had enough of Borneo, in truth we both wanted to find a nice beach and hang out for a few days drinking and enjoying ourselves. In borneo the beaches were OK but not as good as mainland malaysia.

So we got on the net and booked new flights to Johor Bhuru.
