Tioman Islands

Now we are in paradise, also known as the Tioman Islands in southern Malaysia. It was a bit of a trying journey here from singapore, many buses and hours spent waiting for buses followed by more mega bumpy bus journeys and finally a long bumpy green boat journey.

Lorraine and i decided to try a different beach as we were here last year around the same time and believed we were at ABC beach last year, so we headed further north to Selang beach, when we arrived everything looked very similar to where we were last year, until we finally twigged this was the same beach we were at last year!

So we knew exactly where to head for accomodation and arrived at out the Putari Inn bungalows set back from the beach around some beautiful gardens. We arrived at night and the owner dude remembered me from last year - mental huh - Eddie set us up in a nice 3 person bungalow in the best location for only 35 ringitt a night (about 5 quid).

It was pretty late so we immediatly went out to dinner, and at the restaurant ALL the staff remembered me again - mental huh - anyways we had some awesome bbq and then hit the bars where lorraine and i proceeded to get plastered on cheap beers - bliss. An australian dude from the boat called ryan joined us and much drinking was done, before we moved onto another bar where we hooked up with another aussie and then we moved to another bar and drank till 3am.

The next day i was pretty hungover, but we hit beach and it is as beautiful as i remember. White sand, palm trees blue sea the works. The water is crazily clear, like bath water or summink and there are loads of fish and coral and stuff around.

We plan to hang out here for many days, lorraine and i are very relaxed at the moment, definaly prefer here to borneo, the only downside with this place is the mosquitoes there are alot of the buggers and already i have been bitten to death - but its a small price to pay to be in paradise.

well thats all for now, i may update this entry on tioman island, although i am simply looking forward to spending many more days doing nothing.
