Palau Pangkor is a small island on the west coast of malaysia 3 hours bus ride and a boat away from georgetown. On arrival we got a pink minivan (they're all pink with yellow roofs!) to the beach and quickly found somewhere cheap and clean to stay.
The beach was beautiful - long white sandy thing with clear water - not very many people - we had a few very nice days relaxing on the beach.
Unfortunatly thats about all that was good about Pangkor, the food was terrible especially compared georgetown, twice the price and with little or no decent selection. It rained every evening and there were no bars. Also our hotel was overrun with a school group so at 6am the kids would all start screaming and shouting and it was hell. We left after only 3 days - shame cos the beach was so nice.
