We wanted to go to a beach and after checking the net, langkawi seemed like the best bet - so we bought yet more flights and went to Langkawi.
Great decision, beautiful island, we got a beach hut and chilled for a week.
We went on a tour of the nearby islands - there are 1000s of small islands around langkawi, we went to one with the lake of the pregnant maiden - which was this brilliant freshwater lake we could swim in.
Another day we got a taxi boat to drop us off on a deserted beach where we were on our own all day - we packed an icebox with some beer and snacks and had the whole beach to ourselves - bliss!
On our second last day we hired a car and had a great day driving around the whole island checking all the sites.
