We then came to koh phangan, specifically haad rin for the full moon party. we stayed the first night on the busier haad rinn but (even after a bucket) trying to get to sleep listening to booming techno in the neighbouring club prooved too much - so we left the next day for a much quiter beach 5 mins away via taxi boat.

were currently staying at haad Yuan which has a lovely beach and its much more relaxing than haad rin - although we did go back for the full moon party which was a lot of fun although the beach was very packed out with people...

....after writing my last email someone from secondary school (Guy Walters) recognised me and we had a beer...small world!

we spent a few days in Haad Yaum which had a lovely beach and great pizza and then after the full moon party we moved to Had Yao (east) which was probably the nicest looking beach on koh phagnan but only one restaurant/bungalow was there so it was pretty quiet - we ended up getting hammered with all the guests there but then left after one night cos in the morning we were really hungover and there was no
electricity in our room so it was boiling!

we got ripped off by the taxi boat men (there is a universal price fixing scam going on im sure of it) and ended up paying 800 Baht for a 30 min boat journey (800 baht could pay for both of us to travel the entire length of the country!).

but we went to Thong Nai Pan which is beautiful and probably the best beach we went to so far. we got a really nice bungalow right on the beach and it was very relaxing.....until....the crazy lady who runs the bungalows threw us out! this was after 4 nights, we were on our way out for some beers and she called us over and told us we had to move out the next day at 10am! she said she had a booking, we argued... then she said we didnt spend enough money in the restaurant...then because we didnt pay every day for accomodation...it got messy and we argued laoudly and it soured our thong nai pan experience...basically it sucked!

after that...we went to the opther tong nai pan beach and stayed for a few days just chillin and trying to forget about the unpleasentness.

errr....then we went to another beeach called hhaad yao (west) which was ok...then we went to Chakolum for a day or so

Got to Koh Phagnan a while ago - have no idea what day it is now or how long weve been here. Headed to Haadrin first of all which was quite a good place a few years ago - now the beach has gone rubbish and its very built up and busy - the whole beach was packed with people at night and was v. noisy and difficult to find a place to stay. We stayed one night and had enough and went to another beach not far away - cantr remembeber the name. It was a lot quietr so we stayed there for about 5 days. One night thou we got a taxi boat and braved haadrin for the full moon party. It was stupidly busy. Full of youngsters! Had a good time though and met some nice people and drank a couple of buckets (buckets with a bottle of thai whiskey , couple of cans of red bull and couple of cans of coke - keeps you awake and v. drunk all night!). I think Gav had a special Mushroom shake - pretty horrible.

After that, we went to a much quieter beach - the beach was unspoilt and only a few huts on the cliffs. Had a good time there but it was a bit too rustic for both of us as there was electicity for only a couple of hours a day and one restaurant. Also had no sun lotion and there was no shop so couldnt even sun bath. It also had huge bees and a huge spider in the batroom. Alos had a cockroach fall on my head and crasl down my back - gave me the heebi jeebies! But met a nice couple on their honey moon - they were in a resort but wanted something abit more desert island. The guy owns his own graphic desighn company and might give Gav a job when we get back - so its all busy busy out here what with networking and stuff!

Got to Thong nai pan a couple of days ago - v. nice beach and just right for us - not too basic and not too busy. got a really nice cheap room right on the beach. And having a nice time just sunbathing in the early afteroon - it rains buckets here in the late afternoon, so just watch dvds then. The food here is rubbish but hopefully will find something good to eat eventually. Think I will stay here for at least a week until the next beach.

.....Eventually left Kog Phagnan - not sure how long I spent there in the end. Left one beach on a sour note. We had a nice bungalow on the beach and had spent a few days there. Then we were going out one evening and the woman who ran it called us over and told us we had to leave the next morning as she had booked the room to someone. We werent happy - as you cant book a romm while there are still people there! So we were pretty angry seeing as we had no where to go the next day. Tehn we questioned why we were being kicked out and apparently it was beacause we hadnt been spending enough in her stinking restaurant! And I had a go at her nd she told me to shut up and tols us to get out at 10am. We said this was too early so she said we could have until 12 (big of her!)

So next mornign we were going off to have breakfast at 10 (not in her restaurant) and the old bag came chasing after us and told us to get out and give her the key - I refused and reminded her that we had until 12 so she stormed off and said she was going to our room to throw all our stuff out onto the beach! Anyway, me and gav went absolutely mad! Lots of swearing and shouting went on. We had to give in, in the end, but I think we were both ready to slap her. We told her we hopes she drops dead when we leave (fingers crossed - she was the most ignorant b**** Ive ever met!) Anyway, enough of my ranting.

So we jumped on a taxi boat and just went to the next beach and had a nice time, then went to the west side of the island - was ok but the beach isnt v good and its all rocky and not v. swimmable. Then tried a beach on the north - again rocky so only stayed one night. Alos the room we had didnt have a roof over the toilet so I had to wear sunglasses whenever i went to the loo. V. odd design.
