Siem Riep has been one of the highlights of our trip so far, we got a 3 day pass to the temples at Angkor Wat and it was definately worth it. We cycled to and around the temples and they were breathtaking, amazing stuff to look at and i took bucket loads of pictures.

The bikes we had were old chinese bone shakers and lorraine was a little wobly at first but grew in confidence (and stability) as the trips went on. I cant stress how cool it was cycling (in lovely weather) through rice fields and jungles and then seeing an ancient temple towering over the palm trees in the distance. We also saved a bit of money cycling
it which is a bonus as well.

I havwe to also mention the food in cambodia, courtesy of the french, it is brilliant. Ive been eating lovely steaks and other french foods pretty much daily for not very much money ... oh and the wine is very nice as well (so backpackery!)

Now in Siem Reap - have a 3 day pass to Angor Wat and all the other temples so just spent the past 2 days there. Been v. nice as it has finally stopped raining and weve been cycling there and back, so its been really fun and the temples are pretty amazing - although not as big as I thought and a lot more spread out. the batttery in the camera died at the best temple where all trees were growing out of it so will have to go back tomorrow to get some pictures of it. Again - loads of hassle from kids (they are v. cute but v. insistent).

Some really steep steps
I have a fear of hights, and did not enjoying climbing all the steep ancient steps.

The most famous temple at angkor wat
Its as amazing as it looks

Loz cycling away
I took this while cycling - it was my view for a lot of our days at angkor wat Cycling was definately the best way to get around - rather than having a driver like most people did
