YangShou was a pretty cool place surrounded by these amazing Karst cliffs (dunno what karst means - black maybe?) basically the landscape is totally flat but everywhere there are these huge cliffs which spring out the ground. Yangshou felt like a backpacker type town although there were also huge amounts of tour groups which we were pretty much used to.
We spent about 5 days in Yangshou in which time we:
- went to a light and dance show over the river where we bought tickets at a third of the normal rate which also resulted in us watching the whole thing unofficially from a farm across the river and from behind - as such we didnt really know what was going on - you get what you pay for!
- got hammered on our second night where i also played a game of keepie up with a shuttle cock in the street with a load of random chinese people, and on the way home we ended up dancing in the street with a different load of random drunk chinese people (we danced in cirlces on one leg - lorraine hit the deck every 5secs or so).
- went on a trip to the water caves where we were shown around by a chinese speaking guide and had a lot of fun playing charades at every rock of resemblance (they seem to have named almost every rock because in some bizarre - tenous sometimes made up way it looks like something bizarre - ie the dog on the lions back! etc..) We also had a mud bath which was messsy slippery fun! it also included a mud slide whcih is like a water slide cept on mud.
err i only have 2 mins left on the internet so:
- we went on a boat trip that was cold, long and pretty lame looking at the cliffs

Drunken moment number 112
Note lorraine falling over (bottom-left).
We were walking home and these people were randomly dancing and singing in the street - so we joined them and lorraine fell over about 3 or 4 times!
