We landed in Sydney a couple of weeks ago, where we spent our time wandering around shopping (not buying much), eating the best pretzels in the world (at a place called pretzel world - better than ones purchased in New York, SE Asia and the UK) - err and drinking.

At first we were shocked by the cost of everything here, it pretty much is the same as england - with accomodation being particularly pricey (and you do not get much either) - its hard not to compare to asia, hence heres a comparison - for the price of the Sofitel Silom in bangkok (a 5 star hotel and possibily our favourite in the world) we can get two beds in a dorm sleeping four people - or if we are lucky a private room with shared facilities - hmmm that sucks...wwere getting used to it tho.

(and you have to check out at 10am!!!) Also, food and drink and clothes are really expensive. The weather has been pretty bad also - lots of rain and its been a bit cold.

hopefully Australia will improve - not as good as I remembered it a few years ago.
