Our boat was a cool Cattermeran - there were 22 other people plus crew on the boat, so it was pretty big, we were to spend the next 3 days on this boat (2 nights) so we bought enough booze for it. At first it was pretyt rough and we thought wed spend the next 3 days being sick, but it got a lot better once in the fresh air - sun bathing on trampolines at the front, bliss....a nice breeze and the occasional splash of water. Our first port of call was actually a 5 star resort called port hamilton, we stopped here because the sea was prety rough and we would of had a pretty nasty night. We got to use the pool and then after dinner headed out to the yaht club for some drinking and then back to the boat for more drinking and then sleep.

The next day we were up at 6am - i felt rough, so hungover and couldnt remember much of the previous evening, one of the crew Harry, took great pleasure in reminding me of my antics (dentist chair with a cast of wine? - didnt remember that) anyway, we sailed to Whitehaven beach supposed to be the 2nd most beautfiul beach in the world - it was very beautiful but i reckon ive seen better. We had to wear stinger suits in the sea as well - cos there are loads of jelly fish which can kill you in australia.

We spent a few hours on the beach, chilling (sleeping) and playing beach football.
After whitehaven beach we sailed to a place where diving and snorkelling was done. I didnt think much of the snorkelling, i was still hung over, and i thought the water was pretty murky. We sailed to another place to moore up for the evening.

We had a very chilled evening (no more wine for me!) and watched pulp fiction.
The following day i was not hungover and the 7am snorkel was very refreshing, the water was still pretty murky - but lorraine and i finally saw a shark! hurrah! it was a white-tip reef shark and about 1.5m long, scary - we kept our distance and lost it after only 10 seconds - while looking around for it we came across a turtle as well! awesome - we followed it for a few minutes before it went too deep for us.
Well after that we left for airlie beach and that was prety much our sailing trip - basically if i could do it again, i wouldnt drink wine!

Since Arlie beach all the hostels have been much nicer - more motel style rooms rather than a bed in a prison cell. Did a 2 night sailing trip which was fun. There was about 22 of us but again it was a nice bunch of people. Mostly young swedish boys. The first day the sea was too rough so we went to a five star resort and spent the afternoon in the pool and then went to a yacht club in the evening. V. odd spending most of the time on land on a sailing trip! Teh next day was ok - but we were all too hungover to enjoy it and had to get up at 6! Just sunbathed on deck and spent 3 hours on apparently the 2nd most beautiful beach in the world. (it was nice but I have seen better!). Then went snorkelling but visibilty not great. Teh final day we got up at 7 for snorkelling - quite a good way to wake up. Much better as finally saw a shark- just a harmless reef shark and a big turtle.
