so we have been in singapore for nearly a week and its a paradise compared to delhi - we have a cheap hotel right in the middle of the main shopping area (yikes!) and have been shopping alot - spent quite a lot, but its all cool - ive bought a few t-shirts all done by local designers with interesting graphics on them AND i got my PSP! hurrah - i wont spend the rest of this mail going on about it - ill just say i am dead pleased i bought one.

other than shopping (and eating) weve been to the cinema a couple of times, saw Star Wars which was great although a bit hammy in parts imo, i now want to see Episode IV again.

we went to the asian civilisations museum which was a bit boring (guide book said it was a must see) and have done a cruise down the river, we went to sentosa island which is a leisure island with beaches and attractions and stuff, it was ok, the beach was cool - very man made but still nice - we cycled round the whole island which was definately the high light as far as i am concerned.

not sure how long we are staying in singapore, tomorrow we are going to the science museum and to ice-world, basically a room full of snow where you can sledge and have snow ball fights.

well that is all, singapore rocks!

Anyway, Singapore is such a contrast (to India). Its so clean and modern and there is lots to do. Spent the first 2 days shopping, (had to replace my bag and purse and sunnies). have been spending way too much. Keep buying clothes - must stop. Staying in a nice hotel (really should be slumming it) on the orchid road - which has loads of malls, which is not helping my spending habit. Also, its quite expensive here - especially the drinking.

also went to Sentosa Island in Singapore - chilled on the nice beaches for a bit, some dolphins and fish and went for a bike ride aroud the island. Today, went to a water park which was fun. also, been for a cruise round the harbour and even went to a musuem - asian civilisation (almost as exciting as the chair museum in high Wycombe).

Tomorrow, off to the science Musuem and then to a snow park. Then maybe will think about leaving Singapore the next day and going to malaysia to the Tiomen islands. But really dont want to leave - could live here!

Anyway, will give you an update when I get to Malaysia.

There are a lot of sky scrapers there!
Lorraine in front of Raffles
They invented the singapore sling there! it costs around SG$14 for one, which is expensive EVEN for singapore.
Me in front of some building
I think this was the asian civilisations building, there was a bronze statue that i am standing in front of - dunno why
