My sister Katie decided to opt out of medical school and become a doctor in four year instead of a decade by applying for chropractic school in Portland, OR. Although the East coast has its fill of perfectly legit chiropractic schools, the idea of moving to a place that was as much as a 180 degree change from South Carolina as possible was appealing to her. So, being a good sister (and feeling a definite need for a break from Charleston) I offered to drive her all the way across the country and help her settle in to her new home. Leaving May 3rd, 2010 and coming back to Charleston May 11th.
