March 2005
Patti had long since wanted to see the Taj Mahal, but although used to travelling, I was reluctant to do India on a &Quot;back-packing&Quot; trip, so bought a tour taking in the basic triangle route Delhi-Jaipur-Agra-Delhi, but with an add-on trip to Amritsar, Dharamsala and Shimla. This proved to be a wise decision, as our guides were great, and we saw and did many more things than we would have been able to do ourselves, in the limited time that we had.
So, we flew from Gatwick to Delhi, at the start of our trip.
