Dharmsala
Dharmsala
India
March 2005
3 days
Dharmsala is famaous for being the home to the exiled Dalai Lama. It is a picturesque town in the shadow of the Himalaya mountains. Theres a completely different feel about this place, as there are so many Tibetans living there, and Tibetan Buddhists from all over the world studying there. The shops are full of Tibetan goods, and for anyone with the least interest in Tibet its a fascinating glimpse.
We had a lovely suite of rooms, with a superb view, and were presented with a huge chocolate cake on arrival, half of which we gave to our room maid.
