July 2007
3 days
Arrived in Pamplona on Thursday night, found a park for the van just across the river from the old town and went for a wander and a few drinks. The place was already packed and pumping for the San Fermin festival (the Running of the Bulls). It officially kicked off at midday on Friday when the mayor let off rockets from the main square. The streets were packed with people wearing the red and white uniform from very early in the morning, and the drinking and partying did not stop! Had a wicked day meeting randoms, drinking and running into more fun around every winding little corner. Saturday was more of the same, and we managed to catch some music on stage in one of the big squares. On Sunday we got up early to try and catch a bull run, couldn't really see much for the crowds but the atmosphere was pretty exciting.
Thought we couldn't handle anymore of it all, so decided to give our livers a break and head to San Sebastian. The Spanish definitely know how to throw a party!
