I'd also read about Mount St Tegla near A Guarda, right on the border of Portugal. Only the river separated Spain and Portugal, and from the top of the mountain you could see across to Portugal. Pretty fantastic views from up there, even with the mist floating in and out.
An old celtic/roman village used to exist on the mountain, and there were ruins there of little round huts and other buildings and walls that were once there.
We saw people learning how to parachute just nearby
