August 2007
Tues 28 Aug
Drove through the delta region from Zierksee and over to the windmills at Kinderdijk.
We hired rattley old bikes for €2/hr and went riding around the canals and villages and windmills. It was the typical dutch experience. Had a chat to a nice dutch couple who took our photo. I love the dutch, they're so friendly and have the best lifestyle, so easygoing like Australians. And they just love to ride bikes, everywhere you went there was a cycle path or a horse track along the way. It's very very green too, and we spotted windmills in random places in fields outside of Kinderdijk too, although Kinderdijk had a really good collection, some obviously used as houses and in the canals you'd see a tinny or an inflatable boat. What a cool place.
