A horrible day today! Didn't stop pissing down with rain all day! Drove up to Luxembourg hoping it would clear but without any luck. Had a drive through the country and ended up at Echternach, a tiny town in the east. Had a little walk around but it was just too wet to do anything. Hoped it would clear up so we could take a walk through the forest the next day.
Thurs 23 Aug
The weather was better today thank god so we did a walk from the town through the forest which was very wet and muddy to the Gorge de Loup, a big sandstone gorge that towered up above us as we walked through the middle of it. Nice and quiet and relaxing. Saw a small snake on our path, and some massive bright coloured slugs. Weird.
The river there had flooded, chairs which you could normally sit at by the edge we covered in water!
