From Tomar we head through some mountains again which looked really cool as the sun went down and they changed colour from red to purple.
Made it to Fatima, a town that was supposedly an interesting place according to my map, although we didn't know why at first. Parked near a big Sanctuary for the night.
Tues 17 July
Next morning we took a walk around the Sanctuary and found out it was claimed that Mary had made an appearance there a few years ago and the site had been made sacred ever since. As you walked around the Sanctuary there were little vigils and altars that people were preying at, as well as a graveyard and chapel. Quite a weird place, but you could tell it was super religious, it was all very quiet and serious, I don't think I fit in with my mini skirt and thongs!
