From Obidos it was back to the coast and a visit to Peniche. What a weird place. As we drove in it was like it was set in the desert, with these big tall buildings that looked like caterpillars sticking up out of the ground. As we got closer we saw cows in paddocks across the road from the beach, and along the coast there were old defensive walls. Massive sand dunes hid the beach.
After some time at the beach we grabbed some food and I bought some big blocks of ice to cool our drinks from an old woman in a minimarket which came straight from her own freezer, bizarre!
