January 30 - February 2
Arrived in Tallinn from London in the afternoon, it was a bit rainy but we took a walk around, did some shopping and had dinner in a massive beer hall which we hadn't even noticed existed last time we were in Tallinn.
Hired a car on our second day and drove to Rapla which was where Brad's Grandma lived when she was a girl. Found her house and the school she went to which was really cool. It was a nice little village, not much there though!
Had a good night out that night at the Casino and then the nightclub next door, Hollywood. Got to chat to some locals who spoke english (it was uni student night) so that was fun.
Woke up the next day and it was snowing, hooray! Really heavily too, and it didn't really stop all day or night. Everything was covered in white and it made the old town look even prettier. We'd been hanging to see Tallinn in the snow so it was perfect. Spent the day wandering around, went to the Museum of Occupation and lunch of some very strange Estonian food (eg, Garlic Bread which was tiny bits of dark bread fried, and then dipped in creamy garlic sauce....bizarre). Saw some random snowmen built in the park and some very soviet-looking old women pushing prams, very funny.
