8 - 12 February
Hooray, we arrived at the ski resort at Donovaly, took one look at the nice big easy slopes and lots of snow and decided it was definitely a good idea to stay for a while.
Found somewhere to stay and got all our gear sorted out for the next day.
The next morning we head to the slopes and the european championships of dog-sledding of all things was on for the weekend! Argh! Luckily there was another small resort just nearby so we spent a couple of days there instead. Brad had to learn how to ski which was pretty funny to watch, but he did pretty well and picked it up ok. Without even hurting himself or anyone else too much either!
After the weekend the dog-sledding was over so we had two big days skiing at Donovaly. The snow was pretty good and it wasn't too crowded and the slopes were easy enough for Brad, and good for me to scoot down so it was heaps fun.
Again, everything was so cheap. A beer and a hotdog would set you back £1!
There were a few pubs and restaurants at Donovaly too, so we had some good cheap meals and a few drinks and played pool which was good for unwinding at the end of the day.
It turned out to be a really good ski trip, I just wish it had gone for longer!
