25th to 27th November 2006

The bus ride was uneventful and stopped on route so we could pick up a Subway and drink. The bus pulled in to a car park early Saturday afternoon but there didn't seem to be any taxis here and we were a way off from our Best Westin hotel. The guy who worked on the coach checking passenger names had his car here and said he´d drop us off for 20bucks. In we got and he gets on his phone and starts talking Spanish and looking shifty... So yep I start getting paranoid and think he´s gonna take us some place bad.... luckily my fears were allayed when we pulled up at the hotel, but it made me think that we should be careful who's car we jump in when we get to other less savoury parts of the world.

We spent that afternoon washing our clothes and making full use of the nice big room and TV channels. Lazy Days!

Epcot
So the reason we are here to be big kids and check out Disney World! There are five huge parks and only having two days we firstly headed to Epcot.

The entrance fee is phenomenal.... goodness knows how a family brings 3 or 4 kids here for a week.... probably costs about a grand shy of a new car!

We had fun jumping on and off all the rides and watching the 4D movies. 4D is where not only is the movie in 3D but things touch you in the real world such as smells, water sprayed at you and plastic whips tickle your legs.... Great for the kids... as the place filled with screams!

Epcot also has a cool ride that shows what NASA are researching with regards to growing plants and vegetables in different ways and environments, such as space! Some of the results are amazing and they grow huge versions of everyday food with no harmful pesticides etc.

One half of the park is taken up by mini cities of the world where you can visit an English pub, watch the Chinese circus acts, see Paris, Morocco and a list of other well built replicas cities.

There was a massive choir and orchestra putting on a festive repertoire of Christmas hymns which was a nice way to end the evening. Tired from all the walking we got the shuttle back to the hotel and went for a Chinese Buffet.

The Magic Kingdom

After a great breakfast at the hotel, where your own personal omelette chef knocks up whatever fillings you like, we got the shuttle to The Magic Kingdom. To get us in the Disney mood the shuttle showed Tweety Pie Disney Cartoons.

All the usual suspects were doing the rounds having their photos taken with over excited children.... Mickey, Minnie, Pluto etc. The show in front of the Magic Kingdom Castle was so nice and happy they should play it everywhere in the world to abolish crime as theres no way you could commit murder to Mickey and Minnie singing their little hearts out. So very cheesy!

We ate fast food and went on fast rides including the Runaway Train ride where SY left her seat and was only held in by a bar. We also played a weird Buzz Lightyear game where the score was something like JA 250,000 SY 500. We stayed for hours until we´d had enough of the place and headed back. Near the hotel we found a huge crazy golf course on 3 levels and played into the night which was cool.

After that we ate dinner and got an early night as the next day we had a horrible long day of travelling to get to Peru......
